
YOU MUST CHOOSE YOUR HIKES FROM THE APPROVED LIST.
There are 55 approved hikes included in the Spring Ultra Hike, with a total mileage of 190.6 miles. This means you have flexibility in the trails you choose to reach the 100-mile goal. You may hike any trail up to TWO (2) times. You may omit any trail you are not comfortable hiking. You are NOT required to hike every trail on the list, as long as your total distance adds up to 100+ miles. Pay attention to the trail designations when logging miles. For example, there are four different hiking choices at the Fairfield Glade Overlook Trail.
Trail descriptions and driving directions are linked in the trail list found by clicking the button below. You are STRONGLY advised to visit each trail’s link before you head to the trailhead and to read the description thoroughly to be sure you understand the length, difficulty, and logistics of your hike.
There will be no special signage at trailheads to denote a trail is part of this challenge. There will be no additional arrows or markers added to any trails for this challenge (only the standard signs and blazes).
No pre-challenge maintenance will be performed on these trails, but you are encouraged to report any issues so trail crews can respond.
